Ways to work together

Start with
what matters.

For physicians, healthcare leaders, and the people who work alongside them. The format follows the question, the people, and the circumstances.

01 / One to one

Individual
coaching

Personal attention

Virtual conversations

Space to think with someone who understands the weight of responsibility.

Bring the situation you are facing. We might explore a transition in leadership, a difficult relationship, competing commitments, or questions about purpose and direction.

Our conversations give you time to look closely, hear yourself think, consider other perspectives, and decide what deserves your attention next.

  • Stepping into a new or more complex role
  • Navigating conflict and relationships with colleagues
  • Carrying responsibility while staying connected to what matters
  • Examining a professional decision or transition

We’ll discuss fit, confidentiality, the working agreement, and fees before you decide to begin.

02 / Small-group coaching

The Via Dura
Lab

In development / Enquiries welcome

Eight-week design

Physicians & academic leaders

Leading When Expertise Isn’t Enough

The Lab is a small-group coaching experience in development for physicians and academic healthcare leaders. Participants begin with a real professional challenge and explore it through reflection, facilitated inquiry, and conversation with peers.

Across the proposed eight weeks, there is time to notice familiar responses, consider assumptions and other perspectives, and return to the questions that emerge in daily work.

We are also developing a residential immersion. Dates, venues, fees, and enrolment details will be shared as they are confirmed.

03 / The work we share

Teams &
organizations

Workshops

Retreats

Facilitated conversations

Make time to look at how you work together.

A team may need space to discuss something difficult, understand a recurring tension, or think about the way it leads and learns. An organization may want to make coaching and development part of everyday work.

Via Dura designs experiences around your context. We begin with a conversation about the people involved, what is happening, and what a useful experience could make possible.

  • Leadership workshops and educational sessions
  • Team retreats and facilitated dialogue
  • Group coaching and leadership development experiences
  • Consultation on building a culture of development

A few practical questions.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?

You can begin with a situation, a question, or a sense that something deserves more attention. We will use the initial conversation to understand what you are looking for and whether coaching seems useful.

Is this only for physicians?

Much of Ben’s experience comes from surgery and academic medicine. Via Dura also welcomes enquiries from people in adjacent fields whose work involves responsibility, uncertainty, and leading others.

How is coaching different from consulting?

In coaching, your inquiry and choices guide the work. Consulting brings recommendations to a specific organizational problem. For team and institutional work, we will agree on the role, scope, and expectations at the outset.

What does it cost?

Fees depend on the format and scope. We will discuss them clearly after an initial conversation and before you make any commitment.

Can an organization sponsor coaching?

We welcome enquiries about sponsored coaching. Before work begins, we discuss the goals, confidentiality, and what information is shared with the sponsor.

A conversation is a good place to begin

You don’t need to have
it figured out.

Tell us a little about what’s on your mind. We’ll start there.
